Native American Scholarship

The San Diego County Archaeological Society is pleased to begin offering a Native American Scholarship. The purpose of scholarship is to promote Native American involvement in San Diego County archaeology and related endeavors.
Applicant Guidelines
Eligibility
Preference will be given to applicants connected to a tribe in San Diego County or, alternatively, a Native American from elsewhere in California or the United States living in our county. Applicants must attend a college or university in San Diego County studying anthropology, archaeology, Native American studies or a closely related field. Local candidates studying elsewhere may be considered.
Award Timeline
The deadline is on a rolling basis with at least one scholarship awarded every year. Applications are now open.
Award Amount
The available award is $500.
Selection Committee
A committee made up of representatives of the San Diego County Archaeological Society will determine the recipient. In addition, efforts will be made to have a local Native American on the committee.
